My Story
In my mid-twenties, I experienced significant stress in my previous career. At the time, I believed this level of tension was simply part of adult life. However, overtime the effects of chronic stress began to surface. I lost my menstrual cycle for a full year, developed digestive concerns and struggled with insomnia. Although I sensed these symptoms weren’t normal, I continued to push through.
While exploring new career paths, I discovered holistic nutrition and spent two years studying at Pacific Rim College. During this time, I began making meaningful changes to my diet and lifestyle, which initiated small but noticeable improvements in my health.
It was also during my studies that I received my first acupuncture treatment from student practitioners. Experiencing acupuncture firsthand was transformative. Within a few sessions, my menstrual cycle returned, my sleep improved and my digestion began to regulate. Within a year, my cycles were consistent again which was a profound shift in my overall well-being that ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in acupuncture.
Today, as a registered acupuncturist, I’m passionate about supporting women in their reproductive and emotional health. I help women regulate their menstrual cycles, improve fertility and restore balance in times of stress. My approach combines acupuncture, lifestyle guidance and nutritional support to address the root cause of imbalance and help clients reconnect with their bodies’ natural rhythms.
As we all know not one thing can make us feel physically, mentally or spiritually better. It really is multifactorial. Holistic health has been the foundation of my health journey and I hope to incorporate that with my clients. Acupuncture has helped me turn off the chatter and the angst that gets built up over time so that I can adapt and deal with stressors with more ease. It turns the switch off and allows me to get into a calming state I cannot replicate on my own.
